DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE LORD

DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE LORD

AIM:

Worship God as if you have no other day to do so.

TEXT: 2 Sam 6:12-23.

MEMORY VERSE: "Now it was told King David, saying "The Lord has blessed the house of Obed Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God'. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed Edom to the city of David with gladness -2Sam. 6:12.

INTRODUCTION

The instant death of Uzzah while trying to prevent the ark of God from falling off the cart carrying it (25am. 6:6-7) sent fears into King David. He therefore decided to leave the ark at the house of Obed Edom. Never-the-less, news came to King David that God had blessed the house of Obed Edom and all that pertained to him because of the ark of God. David decided to bring the ark of God from the house of Obed Edom into the city of David.

LESSON PRESENTATIONS:

1. DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE LORD:
2 Sam. 6:12-15.

2. MICHAL ATTRACTED A CURSE: 2 Sam. 6:16-3.

1. DAVID DANCED BEFORE THE LORD:
2 Sam. 6:12-15.

David was told by some people that God had blessed Obed
Edom, his house and all that pertained to him because of the ark of God left in his house. This news must have dispelled the fears that David heard that the ark could kill somebody instantly (2Sam. 6:6-7), David arranged with the whole of Israel to take the city of David. The joy of seeing the ark, which depicted the presence of God being brought to the capital, the city of David drove David into dancing with the whole of his might to praise God. David was very zealous for the things of God!

2. MICHAL ATTRACTED A CURSE: 2 Sam, 8:16-23.

David vibrated at a very high spiritual frequency and forgot about himself, that even the skirt he wore was going up and down. Michal, David's wife, the daughter of the former King, Saul, on the contrary, was at a very low spiritual frequency, expecting David to be conscious of himself as the King of Israel. She thus despised David declared that he did it before the Lord who made him king of Israel, in the stead of Saul, her father and would do it more (V 21-22). God's anger fell on Michal for this and God rendered her childless all through her life (V.23).

CONCLUSION:

Whenever we are praising God, we have to remove pride and all self consciousness and worship with all our might. We must not despise anybody because of how he is praising or worshipping God, to avoid attracting a curse to ourselves.
